Jennifer L. Windsor currently serves as Senior Director at Strategy for Humanity. She is also Senior Advisor (non-resident) for the Project on Development and Prosperity at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Jennifer has three decades of experience working in both governmental and non-governmental sectors. Most recently, she was Chief Executive Officer of Women for Women International, an organization dedicated to supporting the most marginalized women in countries affected by conflict and war.
From 2001-2010, Jennifer served as Executive Director of Freedom House, which focused on supporting democracy and human rights globally through its field programs, its strong advocacy for the right of every individual to live in freedom and its well-regarded annual assessments of the state of freedom around the world.
In both organizations, Jennifer led efforts to set strategic priorities, increase their visibility and profile, undertake operational reforms, and raise funds from a diverse set of private and public donors.
From 2010-2014, Jennifer served as associate dean for programs at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where she oversaw School-wide communications efforts and helped to establish the Masters in Global Human Development and the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security.
Jennifer also worked for almost a decade at the U.S. Agency for International Development, serving as Special Assistant and Deputy Chief of Staff to then Administrator Brian Atwood as well as the Deputy Assistant Administrator and Director of the Center for Democracy and Governance. She began her career as a Congressional aide, working for Rep. Ted Weiss (D-NY) and Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY.)
Throughout her career, Jennifer has worked on issues related to human rights, democratic governance, gender and development, women, peace and security, and stabilization of fragile states. She has experience in strategic planning, advocacy, fundraising and operations management.
